For Spelman College's Innovation Lab, the brand identity process focused on crafting a visual and conceptual identity that reflects the lab's mission of empowering creativity, advancing technology, and fostering entrepreneurial thinking within a historically Black women’s college. The process began with in-depth research into the lab’s goals, audience, and Spelman’s legacy of academic excellence and innovation. Through mood boards, color studies, and typographic exploration, we developed a modern, forward-thinking identity that balances tradition with technological advancement. The final brand system incorporates a clean, modular logo, a vibrant color palette inspired by Spelman’s institutional colors, and dynamic graphic elements symbolizing innovation and the possibilities of the future. This identity is designed to be adaptable across digital platforms (including guidance for usage with generative AI) , promotional materials, and within the lab’s physical space, creating a cohesive and inspiring brand experience.
